Location

Zurich Binz.

The space sits in the Binz quarter in the Bineo building, around 20 minutes from the main station. Easy to reach by bike, tram, S-Bahn or car (Brunau motorway exit).

A room that adapts to your day, not the other way around.

Food

The workshop is work enough.

You don't have to worry about coffee, drinks or food. Right next door is our partner, the Japanese Miso restaurant. We organise the food with you, bring it at the right time and make sure that nobody suddenly has to think about sandwich orders during the most important discussion.

And when the day is done, there's time for a drink.

With Floid

You decide how much Floid you need.

The space works without us too. You can come, work and leave again. Or you bring Floid to the table. As an agency, we work on strategy, brands, design and digital products every day. If any of that is interesting for your day, we'll join in. A thought, a session, a sparring or more.

Inspiration

What's already taken shape here.

Workshops are as different as the teams who run them. So we'd rather tell a few stories from our space. No company names, but real details. To inspire, to raise a smile or simply to see what happens here.

01

Strategy, tennis and a Miso burger

08:00. Coffee, croissants and a tennis net.

A team arrived early. Coffee and croissants were ready, the day could begin. At some point a tennis net and a few rackets appeared. It was about strategy, but apparently you can think about that differently than at the conference table too.

Around noon it turned Japanese. Some had miso soup, someone had put together a miso burger. Others went next door to the restaurant, a few moved on to the French place. A lunch break is allowed to run a little longer every now and then.

In the afternoon everyone was brought back together. Closing presentation, coffee, cake and ice cream. Outside it was high summer and warm accordingly.

The day could have been over after that. But it didn't have to be. There was still a drink at the bar: gin and tonic with Aarver gin, non-alcoholic too of course. Almost everyone stayed until the end.

At some point our conclusion was pretty clear: we should slowly head home.

The team's feedback too: Loved it. We'll be back.

And the result? A pretty good strategy day.

02

Product, pizza and quite a lot of post-its

09:15. 14 people, three coffees and a pretty long list.

The product team came with a question that sounded simple at first and then turned out a little more complicated on second look: what should the new product actually do – and what better not?

The morning filled up quickly. Post-its on the wall, sketches on the table, discussions standing up. Every now and then everything was torn down again and resorted. One good idea made it onto the wall three times and off it twice.

At lunch the group split up. A few stayed in the space, others went next door to the restaurant, others again headed to the French place. Pizza was part of it too, of course. The main thing was to get out of the workshop briefly and then back again.

In the afternoon it was about the brand behind the product. Floid took on a session on branding and the question of why brands are becoming more important right now – not despite AI, but partly because of it.

After that, twenty options slowly became a handful. Then three. In the end a pretty clear direction was on the table – including the things you'd deliberately not do.

At 17:30 it was over. Officially, at least.

Two stayed for a coffee, three ordered a drink. The post-its were still on the wall.

“Now at least we know what we're not building.”

For a workshop, that's sometimes quite a lot already.

03

Team day and a surprisingly good idea

10:00. No projector, no presentation, instead 22 people and an empty whiteboard.

The team didn't want a classic workshop. No packed programme, no one presentation after another. A day to talk, for once, about how they actually want to work together.

So the projector stayed off.

In the morning there was discussing, drawing, disagreeing and quite a lot of laughing. One question lingered longer than planned: what do we actually want to keep, even though we've long known it no longer works?

At lunch the group split up. A few went next door to the restaurant, others moved on to the French place. Some stayed in the space a little longer and simply kept discussing. That's exactly what a break is sometimes for.

In the afternoon the whiteboard slowly filled up. Three things were crossed out, two new ones added. And at some point there was an idea nobody had counted on in the morning.

To close, someone wrote three sentences on the wall. No grand vision, no manifesto. Just three things that should run differently from tomorrow.

Then a beer at the bar.

“This is exactly the kind of day we could have used earlier.”

We thought that was a pretty good ending.

Book

A date is enough to start.

Send us your preferred date, the number of people and briefly what you have in mind. We'll look at what you need, discuss catering and room setup and prepare everything so that you don't have to run a workshop about the workshop first thing in the morning. Then you're good to go.

FAQ

What you might still want to know.

What exactly is Floid's WORKSHOP29?

We're Floid, a creative agency for brand development and visual identity from Zurich. Our WORKSHOP29 is at Binzstrasse 29, right next to our office at Binzstrasse 23, where we're at home. A space of our own that we set up for working and thinking and use ourselves too. Not our office, but a place that's entirely yours for your day: room for up to 30 people, well equipped, with catering if you like. We built this room. Now it's open to you.

How many people is the space suitable for?

Up to 30 people. For small teams just as much as for larger workshop groups.

What does a workshop day cost?

One hour costs CHF 120, a half day CHF 450, a day CHF 800. Catering and extras come on top. We'll discuss the details together and send you the quote afterwards.

Is catering included?

Coffee and drinks are on hand. We'll organise lunch and further catering with you. Right next door is our Japanese Miso restaurant – the food comes when you take a break.

Is there only Japanese food in the Binz?

No. The Miso is right next door. Within walking distance there's also the Dazy, a French place and more restaurants.

How do you get there?

The space is in Zurich Binz, around 20 minutes from the main station. By tram, S-Bahn, bike or car (Brunau motorway exit). Though in Zurich, as everyone knows, almost everything is 20 minutes away anyway.

Is there parking?

We don't have our own parking. There are public parking spaces nearby in the Binz.

Does Floid have to be there for the workshop?

No. You can have the space entirely to yourselves. If you want Floid there, that's possible too – from a single thought to accompanying the whole day.

Can you book over several days?

Yes. One day, several days or a longer period – we adapt to what you have planned.

How do you book?

Your preferred date, number of people and briefly what you have in mind: book a slot in the calendar, free and without obligation. We'll sort out the rest together.

Welcome

Made by an agency.
For everyone with something in mind.

We're Floid. A creative agency for brand development and visual identity from Zurich. We spend a good part of our time working with teams on things that aren't quite clear yet. That sometimes takes distance, sometimes a good question and usually a room where you can keep thinking in peace. We built this WORKSHOP29 room. Now it's open to you.
